The RANZCOG O&G Audit App is an audittoolto assist and encourage participation in self-audit ofclinicalpractice. The aim of this easy to use App is to allowObstetriciansand Gynaecologists to monitor practice and identifyareas forimprovement, which may be subject to a ‘Quality Cycle’approach ofmeasurement, comparison to a standard, introduction ofchange andre-measurement approach. The App is simple to use andallowsFellows and Trainees to collect practice data and reviewoutcomesin comparison to data from The Australian Council onHealthcareStandards (ACHS) Clinical Indicator program.
The Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) andRANZCOGhave worked collaboratively to review and developClinicalIndicators in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, as part of ourcommitmentto safe, quality healthcare for women and their families.Manyfactors were considered in their development includingstatisticalsignificance, relevance to contemporary practice,patient safetyand ease of collection. The ACHS Clinical Indicatorsare awell-established tool for practice audit andreflection.Consideration of the data collected, and the figuresprovidedshould be used to review practice, care outcomes anddeviationsfrom benchmarks.
The RANZCOG O&G app is a valuable audit tool for traineesandconsultants. Three types of reports can be generated:Obstetrics,Gynaecology and Number of procedures. Reports can beexported to theuser’s email.
